Back to School

Yesterday was the first day of school.

Everything is going well so far. I've been to all my classes now, and they're all pretty good. Spanish turned out to be no problem. I had been worried that I wouldn't remember enough because I hadn't studied in a year, but I was able to understand everything fine. Philosophy should be interesting because I've never taken it before.

So, I'm getting into the swing of life here. Still trying to see a college student in the mirror, that may take a while. It's hard to believe it now, highschool seemed to take an eternity, but now it's over and it feels like I was 12 yesterday. It doesn't help that Johnny Ryan still walks around campus without shoes on!

The Caf is OK. I guess I'll live. It's not so much that the food is bad, it's pretty good, but "something is not right" with the setting and the choices. Eating dinner with complete strangers instead of my family.

I got a SWOP job in the Language Lab, which should be good, despite the fact that I'm only getting 5 hours per week. I need to get a second job, preferably on campus, just to pay the remainder of my bill.

If only they'd ask me, I'd have some suggestions for the school:
-If only the vending machines accepted meal plan points.
-The coffee cart in the JC should open at 7:30, BEFORE early morning classes start at 8:00.
-If we swiped our own ID cards on the way in, it would eliminate the cafeteria line running out the door.
-We should just darn well get Labor Day off, dang it!

Thank you for listening to my ravings. I'm a bit tired, so I should get some sleep. I'll just leave you with these parting words:
"Send me mail!"
I've only gotten pamphlets from the school so far, and I'd love to hear from you! I put my address in a previous post. I'd also like calls or even emails.

OK, g'night. Love you all!
God bless,
-Rebekah

Why would you expect Johnny to be wearing shoes? Besides, I think it would be more strange to see him with shoes. It would just be bizarre.

But he is an adult now, at least he's supposed to be. :)
We'll just wait till January.
