What is that even supposed to mean? What a sad commentary on the state of our culture! We don't get engaged, we "commit".

I was under the impression that lack of commitment was a large problem in modern relationships.
It's just that "commit" could mean anything!
I'm thinking alternatives to marriage.
But maybe I'm just over-analyzing.
