But I guess maybe it's different on a blog. Apparently, it's called a "meme" and...
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.

The oligarchic constitution degenerates into democracy (the rule of the people) when the poor in the oligarchic state revolt. All are then set free to do as they wish--and, says Socrates in effect, to go to the devil in their own way.
That was from the Great Dialogues of Plato, in the Summary of the Republic. Terribly exciting.

Dang, I've been tagged twice. I guess this means I'll have to do it again.
I hate chain emails too. Funny that I have never thought of memes as being in the same category.
Of course, a meme is not like "Pass this on to 70 people or you'll die at midnight" kind of thing. I actually like the chain emails where it's like "Copy-paste these 30 random questions about yourself and answer them so your friends find out cool random things about you."
