I've never quite figured out how one is meant to go about writing a song.
If you write the words first, you run the risk of making it sound really lame because it goes badly with the music. I'm thinking here specifically about some Mass parts I've heard that just sound pathetically contrived.
If you write the music first, you often end up with bad rhymes, Yoda quotes, and the word "depend" at the end of lines.
You can't win! I guess that's why I stick to what I'm good at.
